Lectures and speeches

Lectures include a presentation that can be as little as 10 minutes or can go over one hour, depending on the topic and context. They often follow up with a discussion or Q&A session and try to inform or educate the attendees. Items discussed vary from the design discipline to the business and product development and everything in between. Case studies, interviews, videos and other materials may be used to help the audience grasp and comprehend the concepts taught even better.

Format

Typically we use a projector or a large screen that the audience can view the presentation. Despite this conventional format, other arrangements are also possible.

Ideal Audience

It varies depending on the circumstances. In private company meetings, it can be as few as 3-5 people, whereas in corporations and educational institutions it ranges from 10 to up to 100-150 people. Large organisations may have even larger audiences.

Consulting / Advisory

Organisations and companies that are seeking to leverage my design expertise to advance their product offering or business model opt-in for this service. Advisory may include a combination of workshops and/or speeches, as well as studying your organisation from within. Through this service, we will attempt to convert and transform your industry-specific challenges and problems into opportunities that can help you go forward.

Format

There are two typical formats, one is studying your organisation from within for a period of time through various methods and means, and another is through a speech and a workshop that could become a series of events depending on the circumstances. What we will finally do depends on your time and budget.

Ideal Audience

Executives, business managers and startups that are facing challenges or future uncertainty, and are seeking personal advice from a design expert.

Workshops

These are usually targeted in organisations or schools, and there are two common goals. One goal is to engage the participants in a co-creation, discovery process. Another goal is to tackle problems and ideate potential solutions from within the organisation. The specific goals for each client vary, it can be either the one or the other, or both. In a few cases there are more goals, and always we aim to have fun doing the workshops.

Format

There are so many different formats to plan workshops. They can range from lunch gatherings to rapid creativity sessions. The actual format will be customised to meet the needs of your organisation or school.

Ideal Audience

Workshops usually involve from as few as five people to as many as 25-50 people. Facilitating workshops for a broader audience is possible. However, assistance may be required depending on the case. Workshop attendees can be students or working professionals. In all cases, there is a clear objective to the audience of what it is that the workshop is trying to achieve.
